- TimbalandW is turning his attention from the music business to the movies–he’s working with another outfit to co-produce a film called Vinyl, which is, surprise, about a band. So, let’s see if we can figure this out–he’ll make the movie a big success, then take all the stars from the movie and produce films for them that will make them big successes, and then he’ll mix and match them with other stars to make even more successful movies–any questions?
- Kanye WestW talked to People magazine on the anniversary of his mom Donda West’s death, and told them that he feels responsible for what happened to her, explaining, "I feel like I moved to California, and then my mom [did too], and she did stuff she wouldn’t have done if we’d stayed in Chicago." I rarely dispense advice, but maybe some is in order here: dude, all you’re responsible for is what you do with the life you have now that she’s gone–if what you do and who you are can honor what she saw in you, not only will she live on, but she’ll live in you…
NBC’s annual Christmas In Rockerfeller Center special includes some pretty special music when it airs December 3, including Beyonce, The Jonas Brothers, Idol’s David Cook, plus Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts and that amazing opera singer who won America’s Got Talent. Whatever tlheir plans for the place, there is definitely some de-creepiness that has to be done first…
Jennifer AnistonW is still answering questions about comments she made in a Vogue interview about her ex Brad PittW and Angelina JolieW–she told Oprah on today’s show that she was just answering the reporter’s question about how it made her feel to hear Jolie describe the way she and Pitt fell in love in 2004, saying the remarks "were really uncool". Personally, the only thing she really needs to answer is how she learned to behave like such a grown-up in a town so full of overgrown babies…
- A former executive producer of American Idol isn’t a fan of the new season’s plans to include a fourth judge–songwriter Kara DioguardiW–to the additional mix of Simon, Paula and Randy, saying, "I think once you’ve been told, ‘You suck,’ you don’t need to be told another three times." No worries–I’m sure Paula will make up for it by trying to date as many of the contestants as possible…

Britney Spears had a bit of a scare when her son Jayden was admitted to a Mississippi hospital Sunday during a weekend family reunion in her Louisiana hometown, after he reportedly had a nasty allergic reaction to something he ate–the good news is he’s fine and was discharged last night. - YouTube will soon be a destination for full-length entertainment from MGM, including old and new classics like The Magnificent Seven and Legally Blonde. Some say they’re playing catch-up with the joint NBC-Fox venture Hulu, but don’t underestimate Google, YouTube’s owners–MGM could very soon stand for More Google Media…

- Billboard magazine reports that Britney Spears is definitely hitting the road next spring after cutting a tour deal with AEG Live, that it will be international, and visit midsize venues rather than theatres or stadiums. It sounds like another carefully-planned step made by her father, which proves that all celebrity parents aren’t publicity-seeking boobs that are painfully unaware of their childrens’ problems–but enough about Brit’s mom…

It must be great for her to resume her tour, and to realize that her only big headache isn’t brother Michael…
ohn McCain tried to make peace with David Letterman Thursday night, telling the late-night host that "I screwed up" by canceling an earlier appearance on the show, then endured some pretty sharp questioning by Letterman about his campaign and Sarah Palin. I think afterwards, he probably would have preferred a debate with Hillary Clinton…

- At Britain’s Q Awards Monday, presented by the music magazine of the same name, Coldplay was named Best Act In The World Today, as well as winning Best Album for its Viva La Vida Loca Or Death And All His Friends. Lead singer Chris Martin said in his acceptance speech that the only reason his band had won was that, "U2 are on holiday"–besides, even Bono has got to get a little weary with all the adulation…
- Beyonce finally decided to go on the record about her marriage to Jay-Z–a little over six months later, when she told Essence magazine that the wedding was small and intimate because, "it’s been my day so many days already". And she said the reason she kept the news a secret so long is that, "What Jay and I have is real. It’s not about interviews or having the right photo op"–plus they probably also had to make sure the pre-nup was air-tight…

- The New York Post says John McCain may be trying to mend fences with David Letterman, who he left in a lurch recently when McCain canceled an appearance on the show by telling Letterman he had to return to Washington–only to do a different interview and then not leave New York until the next day. The two sides are discussing an October 15 visit–well, McCain is; I think Letterman is still talking about hell freezing over first…
Actor David Duchovny of X-Files fame is clean and sober…uh, sort of, now that he’s checked out of rehab for sex addiction, as his attorney told People magazine, "David is out of rehab and about to start a new movie. Avril Lavigne is having difficulty performing a concert in Malaysia, where officials say her show would be, "unsuitable to Malaysian culture" and its scheduled date of August 29 is too close to the nation’s independence celebration. Avril needs to follow the lead of Beyonce, who was in a similar situation recently–she made sure her costumes were inoffensive, her songs weren’t controversial, and her multi-zillion dollar husband was standing by just in case to write them a big check…
- The Olympics have been good to Michael Phelps, and Michael Phelps has been very good to NBC–its coverage of the summer games grabbed the top 7 spots in TV ratings last week, pulling in an average audience of 28.7 million. Al Roker had better hope Phelps has no major weatherman aspirations…
The people of Milwaukee honored one of their own–on TV at least–when they unveiled a bronze statue of Arthur Fonzerelli, better known as "The Fonz" from 70’s sitcom icon Happy Days. Most of the cast of the show was on hand, except for the guy who played Potsie–he spent the day on the show’s Hollywood set, wondering where everybody else was…
