- Pink’s new CD Funhouse is in stores today (10/28/08), which is kind of an ironic title since much of it is about her split with husband Carey Hart. In fact, she originally wanted to call it Heartbreak is a Mother-Bleeper–maybe she thought it was too subtle…
- Idol winner David Cook has hooked up with iTunes to promote his new single Light On–users of iPhone or iTouch can buy an application that will make your device light up and then play Cook’s song. David says it’s a take-off on holding up your lighter during a concert, adding, "You get a lighter during a rock ballad, and nobody burns their thumbs."
Ever since Brit tabloid The Sun published a dated photo of Katy Perry holding a knife next to a picture of a recently-stabbed teenager, it’s been a PR disaster for her–she took to her blog to call out the paper for trying to make her look like she condoned violence. Those comments apparently upset families of stabbing victims in the UK, who now want her removed as the host of the MTV Europe Awards November 7–held in the hometown of the pictured stabbing victim. And we thought her hit I Kissed A Girl would be controversial…
- The Black Eyed Peas are close to finishing their new CD The E.N.D., only Will. I. Am. says it will never be finished–because he plans to constantly update it with new versions every few months. Some might consider that the view of a perfectionist–my ex would call it fear of committment…

- Madonna launched the US leg of her Sticky And Sweet tour Saturday from New Jersey’s Izod Center, and the consensus of reports suggested her show is more acrobatic than erotic. She was impressive by all accounts, but how sleazy can a 50-year-old mother of two really be?
- Crunk king Lil’ Jon, one of Britney Spears’ collaborators on her upcoming Circus CD, told People magazine that the album has the goods to put her back on top, adding, "It’s going to be a big album. Britney is very intelligent and she’s really set up [for success]. She is focused and she wants it again, so it’s definitely going to happen for her." That’s high praise indeed–not to mention nice to know he can say more than just "Yeah!"…
The Jonas Brothers say that the inspiration for their current single Lovebug was the movie Juno, as Nick explains, "Juno was one of our favorite movies at the time, and the soundtrack is…kind of odd, so we decided to put those elements in the song, and it came [together] very nicely." America’s favorite clearn-cut heartthrobs inspired by a wacky pregnant teen–has anybody told the suits at Disney?
- Janet Jackson continues to postpone concerts on her Rock Witchu tour, with performances in Greensboro, North Carolina Saturday, Atlanta Sunday, and Fort Lauderdale Tuesday delayed, along with shows in Montreal, Boston and Philadelphia–this after a doctor in Greensboro advised her not to perform because it was "evident" she had not recovered from whatever is ailing her. I certainly hope she isn’t turning back into Michael…
Olympic gold medal beach volleyball star Misty May-Treanor was hurt Friday and may be forced to end her competition on Dancing With The Stars, with a source stating that the injury to her Achilles heel would require surgery. Maybe the show would let her sub v-ball partner Kerri Walsh in–she looks good in a two-piece outfit too…

Bad news for Janet Jackson fans–she’s postponed two more shows on her Rock Witchu tour following a mysterious illness Monday night in Montreal that sent her to the hospital briefly. - ABC has captured the first ratings week battle of the fall season, placing Dancing With The Stars, Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy in the top three spots last week. Meanwhile, the return of 90210 on The CW Network is on a downward spiral, with only about half as many viewers as the show’s premiere three weeks ago. So how long will it be before we see the new-and-improved Dancing With Desperate 90210’s Anatomy?
The judge in the divorce of Sharon Stone and San Francisco newspaperman Phil Bronstein ruled that their son Roan remain in his father’s custody, largely due to what the court said was Stone’s tendency to "overreact to many medical issues"–like suggesting Botox injections for Roan’s foot odor problem and insisting he had a spinal condition when there was no evidence of it. It does appear that there’s considerable evidence of a mental condition…
- The moderator of Thursday’s vice-presidential debate, PBS reporter Gwen Ifill, says she still plans to do her job there–despite breaking her ankle while carrying prep documents for the debate down the stairs in her home. Now that Britney Spears has helped MTV to promote their Video Music Awards, she’s in negotiations to appear on the show. I don’t think it’s a question of if she’ll be on–it’s whether or not she’ll have to dance with the elephant…
- Daughtry is set to perform at both Democratic and Republican National Convention events in support of the ONE campaign, an organization who works to raise public awareness of global poverty, hunger and disease. When it comes to human rights, Chris obviously believes in being an equal opportunity nag…
- New dad Clay Aiken will return to his role in Broadway’s Spamalot next month, now that close friend and producer Jaymes Foster–who became pregnant by in-vitro fertilization–gave birth to their son Parker. I think it’s just wonderful that two people like this can decide to start a family together without romantic entanglements that neither of them want–and it would be even nicer if one of them would just admit that he’s gay…
The distributors of the straight-to-DVD movie National Lampoon’s Pledge This! have sued producer and star Paris Hilton for not adequately promoting the film. Frankly, I don’t see her hanging out and signing autographs at a few thousand Blockbuster Video stores…

They both listed Frank Sinatra on their Top Tens–which means they have about as much in common musically as they do politically …

Considering Sapp went 6′2" and 300 pounds during his playing days, which consisted of crushing whoever had the ball, he’ll make an ideal partner–with anyone willing to wear armor…

- Kevin Federline’s attorney has taken exception to reports about the frivolous way his client spends money and dispenses gratuities, saying a false picture of K-Fed is being painted in the "court of public opinion". I’m guessing the only picture not being painted is of what he’s not getting with all those big tips…
- Paula Abdul refuses to let go of her wish to be on Dancing With The Stars and plans to talk with producers of that show and American Idol to make it happen. There are understandable concerns about letting someone with Paula’s credentials into a dance competition–like her jumping all the male contestants…
