- Mariah Carey has a cameo role in the just-released Adam Sandler film You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, where she plays what she calls, "an exaggerated version of me," singing the National Anthem dressed in a cleavage-baring hot pink minidress, followed by an over-the-top diva scene in her dressing room. Umm…what’s exaggerated about that?
- Idol champ David Cook says a group of older female fans, calling themselves "Cougars For Cook", don’t bother him at all, adding, "There is something very sexy about an older woman. I don’t know what it is." His mom probably does–which is probably why it definitely bothers her…
- Britney Spears reportedly will pop up in an upcoming Pussycat Dolls video, but she apparently neither sings nor dances in it. So does she play a receptionist?

I’m just trying to make good music." Try wearing that Dukes Of Hazzard outfit and they’ll come around…
- Samuel L. Jackson has cut a deal with a CBS production company to develop and executive produce several projects, although it’s uncertain now whether he will appear in any of them. It all depends on how many parts require an angry black man in them…

- The two Davids of American Idol are both doing pretty fair in the world of digital download sales, as Billboard reports that winner David Cook has 17 songs on its Hot Digital Tracks chart and runnerup David Archuleta has 14 on the chart–largely a result of iTunes’ decision to begin making sales data public…
- Clay Aiken is apparently going to be a father, as a spokesperson for producer David Foster said that Foster’s sister had been artificially inseminated by Aiken, who is a long-time friend of hers. It’s a wonderful gesture and not too surprising really–Clay probably had no interest in doing it the usual way…

- The paparazzi can’t wait for Miley Cyrus’ first kiss–that’s because pictures of it could fetch as much as $150,000, depending on whose lips they are. It makes me wonder what the price tag is for a shot of papa Billy Ray popping whoever tries it…
- American Idol winner David Cook is off and running as a successful recording artist, with his song The Time Of My Life already selling almost a quarter million downloads so far, as well as all 11 of his Idol performances hitting Billboard’s Hot 100 simultaneously–the most since the Beatles put 14 on the chart in 1964. We’ll just have to figure out what to call it–Cook-Mania sounds like a Food Network show…

- Wacky American Idol contestant Sanjaya will soon be featured in a Nationwide Insurance TV ad promoting retirement planning. It makes sense, since he’s at about fourteen and a half of his fifteen minutes of fame…
- Former CSI star Gary Dourdan has pleaded guilty to felony drug possession charges, but his lawyer said he will do no jail time if he completes a 30-hour program. Maybe it should consist of all his camera time on the show, so he can reflect on what I’m guessing the dope has cost him…
- It looks like Eddie Murphy is next on the list of stars anxious to resurrect a successful film character, with plans in motion for a fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie that would be released in about two years. - Mariah Carey is in Japan, where she will throw out the first pitch at a baseball game in the Tokyo Dome–it’s because the TV network airing the game is using a song from her new E=MC2 album as its theme song. Will someone have to explain to Mimi that this pitch is a low fastball, not a high C?
- The reports of Kelly Clarkson working on a new CD are true, and she’s getting some help from OneRepublic lead singer Ryan Tedder–who not only has penned hits for his own band but co-wrote Leona Lewis’ huge Bleeding Love.
