• Not only does Katy Perry has a hit song, but she now has a doll, as she teamed up with a fashion designer to create a 12-inch doll that will sell for 50 bucks through Integrity Toys and will feature the belted gold minidress Katy wears in the video for I Kissed A Girl.  I wanted to get one for my little niece, only it kept trying to put a lip lock on Malibu Barbie…
• More great news for ex-Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker–he’s been released from the hospital with a spokesperson reporting that he’s "in good condition".  That certainly is an encouraging report–although how often is someone discharged with the statement, "The patient is in terrible shape, but we’re cutting them loose anyway"?
• Britney Spears said in a radio interview Monday that she is "definitely" hitting the road next year to do some shows, and that it likely will be a world tour. It must make her feel just like a teenager again–you know, having to ask her dad for permission to go…
• A former attorney for Heath Ledger has filed suit against an insurance company who he alleges is withholding a $10 million payout on a policy Ledger took out to benefit his daughter Matilda Rose.  The company claims they are just thoroughly investigating the possibility that Ledger committed suicide, despite a coroner’s report calling his death an accidental drug overdose, which would let them off the hook for paying–which would be almost as evil as Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight…
• Ed McMahon is back in legal hot water, thanks to a lawsuit from a company founded by the late Merv Griffin who claims it loaned McMahon $100 grand in 2005 and hasn’t been repaid.  Maybe Merv’s people could let Ed win the money on Wheel Of Fortune…
• Janet Jackson had to cancel a Montreal concert when she was hospitalized after suddenly becoming sick during sound check.  Maybe she took a look at her hairdo and just puked…

• Britney Spears continues to work towards the release of her CD Circus December 2, shooting a video for the album’s first single Womanizer at a club and restaurant in downtown L.A. Wednesday and Thursday.  It reportedly contains some "erotic choreography" where she straddles a guy and then sucks on cherries–in other words, she’s trying something more mature…
• U2’s The Edge was a bit peeved over reports that bandmate Bono had bought himself a pricey yacht–mostly because the buyer was actually the legendary guitarist himself, telling The Irish Independent, "For years, it was a dream of mine to own a yacht but to be honest, it was a bit out of my league. So myself and a few friends got together, chipped in and bought the Cyan."  He makes it sound like they were ordering a pizza–only with seven-figure toppings …
• Illusionist David Blaine’s latest stunt, featured in a two-hour ABC special Wednesday night, had a less-than-thrilling finale–he told TMZ that he blames President Bush, whose speech delayed the start of his stunt by 15 minutes.  You know, I have no problem blaming Bush for any number of things, but he is definitely getting a pass from me for this…
• Ed McMahon will be featured in a new ad for FreeCreditReport.Com, rapping about his financial troubles and riffing on his former gig as spokesperson for American Family Publishers by cruising through neighborhoods and asking sweepstakes winners for money.  Um…I think that last part is actually true…
• Nickelback returns with a new CD November 18 titled Dark Horse, and will offer fans a free download of the track Gotta Be Somebody from the album starting Monday at 6AM Eastern time on the band’s website.  Frontman Chad Kroeger says, "there’s a lot of truly filthy subject matter and adult themes" on the new album–i guess he just wanted to make sure that kids would know not to buy it…
• September isn’t even over and we already have our first TV casualty, as Fox has dumped the Jerry O’Connell sitcom Do Not Disturb–the official line is that the show is being put on hiatus for a week, but gossip says that’s when the show will get the official ax.  That’s pretty depressing–although not as depressing as being cancelled from The CW Network…

• New mom Gwen Stefani (pictured here incredibly any-minute-now pregnant!) has left the hospital with her second child with rocker husband Gavin Rossdale, baby boy Zuma Nesta Rock.  It’s good news for that other Gwen–Apple is no longer the world’s stupidest celebrity baby name…
• Kid Rock has bucked the current trend of putting his music on iTunes–and the huge success of his hit All Summer Long has forced anyone who wants the song to buy his CD Rock And Roll Jesus at their local music retailer. It’s put the album, released almost a year ago, in the Top 10 and pushed it to double platinum status–not to mention really irritating Steve Jobs…
• Pink is singing one thing and saying another, as she claims her new song So What is not a dig at her estranged husband Carey Hart–despite the song’s video depicting her taking a chainsaw to a tree engraved with the couple’s names on it.  Pink claims it’s the musical version of "when a kindergartener goes up and punches a girl he likes and runs away", and insists Hart is "my darling" and "it’s all good"–and maybe explains why they’re estranged…
• Malaysia’s government has apparently done an about-face on their stance opposing Avril Lavigne’s concert there this coming Friday night–officials now say her show in Kuala Lumpur may go on, although the nation’s arts and culture ministry will reportedly monitor the concert to "ensure that the performances do not clash with the Malaysian culture and values".  So–how much was the payoff, and which official got it?
• Former Saturday Night Live cast member Chris Kattan has split with his wife, model Sunshine Tutt, after a virtual Hollywood eternity of wedded bliss–8 whole weeks.  What do you figure–he did that Mango bit one time too many?
• Ed McMahon has passed on Donald Trump’s offer to buy McMahon’s home, which is in danger of foreclosure, and then lease it back to McMahon and his wife.  Ed will instead sell the home to another party, likely deciding he wanted the Donald as a landlord about as much has he would want Jay Leno as a boss…

• Another day, another story about the Jonas Brothers, as their long-awaited new CD A Little Bit Of Longer was released Tuesday, with brother Joe calling it a "happy" album, adding, "I think when you hear it, you hear the smiles — you hear us being happy."  Mostly because they know it’s gonna sell like 3 bazillion in the first week…

• The spinoff of Beverly Hills 90210 is falling apart even before it gets started, with reports that Tori Spelling has bailed out on the show because she was making less money than co-stars Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty.  That’s too bad–it would have made for a great story line…
• Speaking of more money, the cast of Lost is pressing their bosses for raises after learning that stars Evangeline Lilly and Matthew Fox are getting pay bumps.  Not surprisingly, they were marooned on an island with no hope of rescue…
• The Special Olympics apparently finds nothing special about the upcoming film Tropic Thunder–they are protesting the repeated use of the word "retard" in the film in reference to a character in the movie.  Ben Stiller, who not only directed and wrote the film but plays the character in question, basically feels the flim is making fun of people who hold those beliefs–and if you disagreee, you’re a retard too…
• Ed McMahon is being sued again, this time by a company claiming he defaulted on a $250,000 loan made last year.  When asked by reporters for confirmation, McMahon repeatedly blubbered, "AAA-Oh!  You are correct, sir!"…

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris told People magazine that there is an opportunity for Britney Spears to return to the sitcom, saying, "The door is open for her. We would love [guest stars] who get in the show’s world to stick around if they want to."  The really weird part of it is that it makes her seem more normal to be a TV star…

Usher’s new CD Here I Stand is standing atop Billboard’s album chart, where it debuted with first-week sales of nearly a half-million.  Mr. Raymond says he doesn’t really care if it doesn’t sell, "a bazillion-gazillion records"–it’s just rewarding to get the album’s message out…

Miley Cyrus’ papa Billy Ray says that paparazzi salivating over the $150,000 they could get for a photo of her first kiss are too late–only he won’t say who it was.  It’s probably because of the settlement agreement he made after clobbering the kid…
