  • Maroon 5 fans can catch their band on the tube Wednesday night on CSI:NY performing their latest single Goodnight Goodnight.  You should tune in early, because the performance will be at the beginning of the show–hopefully they aren’t the episode’s victims…
  • Dido is set to release her new CD Safe Trip Home November 4, her first in 5 years since her hugely popular Life For Rent, and a deluxe edition is available for pre-order on iTunes that includes bonus tracks and a video for her first single Don’t Believe In Love
  • ABC has captured the first ratings week battle of the fall season, placing Dancing With The Stars, Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy in the top three spots last week.  Meanwhile, the return of 90210 on The CW Network is on a downward spiral, with only about half as many viewers as the show’s premiere three weeks ago.  So how long will it be before we see the new-and-improved Dancing With Desperate 90210’s Anatomy?
  • Sharon Stone, displaying her considerable parenting skillsThe judge in the divorce of Sharon Stone and San Francisco newspaperman Phil Bronstein ruled that their son Roan remain in his father’s custody, largely due to what the court said was Stone’s tendency to "overreact to many medical issues"–like suggesting Botox injections for Roan’s foot odor problem and insisting he had a spinal condition when there was no evidence of it.  It does appear that there’s considerable evidence of a mental condition…
  • The moderator of Thursday’s vice-presidential debate, PBS reporter Gwen Ifill, says she still plans to do her job there–despite breaking her ankle while carrying prep documents for the debate down the stairs in her home.  She should have known better than trying to carry something as heavy as the complete text of Joe Biden’s last speech…

  • Gwen Stefani--pre-Zuma...New mom Gwen Stefani (pictured here incredibly any-minute-now pregnant!) has left the hospital with her second child with rocker husband Gavin Rossdale, baby boy Zuma Nesta Rock.  It’s good news for that other Gwen–Apple is no longer the world’s stupidest celebrity baby name…
  • Kid Rock has bucked the current trend of putting his music on iTunes–and the huge success of his hit All Summer Long has forced anyone who wants the song to buy his CD Rock And Roll Jesus at their local music retailer. It’s put the album, released almost a year ago, in the Top 10 and pushed it to double platinum status–not to mention really irritating Steve Jobs
  • Pink is singing one thing and saying another, as she claims her new song So What is not a dig at her estranged husband Carey Hart–despite the song’s video depicting her taking a chainsaw to a tree engraved with the couple’s names on it.  Pink claims it’s the musical version of "when a kindergartener goes up and punches a girl he likes and runs away", and insists Hart is "my darling" and "it’s all good"–and maybe explains why they’re estranged…
  • Malaysia’s government has apparently done an about-face on their stance opposing Avril Lavigne’s concert there this coming Friday night–officials now say her show in Kuala Lumpur may go on, although the nation’s arts and culture ministry will reportedly monitor the concert to "ensure that the performances do not clash with the Malaysian culture and values".  So–how much was the payoff, and which official got it?

  • Ed McMahon has passed on Donald Trump’s offer to buy McMahon’s home, which is in danger of foreclosure, and then lease it back to McMahon and his wife.  Ed will instead sell the home to another party, likely deciding he wanted the Donald as a landlord about as much has he would want Jay Leno as a boss…

  • Britney Spears’ attorney says she is not yet fit to participate in court matters in her conservatorship case, which has another hearing scheduled for July.  That’s just legal talk for "I’m not bailing on this cash cow anytime soon!"…
  • The two Davids of American Idol are both doing pretty fair in the world of digital download sales, as Billboard reports that winner David Cook has 17 songs on its Hot Digital Tracks chart and runnerup David Archuleta has 14 on the chart–largely a result of iTunes’ decision to begin making sales data public…
  • Clay Aiken is apparently going to be a father, as a spokesperson for producer David Foster said that Foster’s sister had been artificially inseminated by Aiken, who is a long-time friend of hers.  It’s a wonderful gesture and not too surprising really–Clay probably had no interest in doing it the usual way…
  • The wife of Bill Murray filed for divorce May 12, claiming he physically abused her and reportedly told her in November that she was, quote, "lucky he didn’t kill her".   That Bill–such a kidder…
  • Supermodel Naomi Campbell was charged with assaulting two police officers at London’s Heathrow Airport last month.  She must think she can throw a cell phone at anybody…
  • Sharon Stone has apologized for her recent comments about China’s earthquake, saying she made inappropriate remarks and that she is willing to take part in the relief effort that continues there.  I’m sure they’re willing to have her stand on the fault line and yell when it opens up…
