Yes, yes, yes–her record company announced in a statement that "she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction and prepare for her planned appearance at the Grammy Awards." - Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz claims that the new hit horror movie Cloverfield was based on an album by the band called Infinity On High. I’m inclined to believe that it’s Pete who’s high on infinity–or something else…
- Billboard magazine reports that Rihanna has scored seven Top 10 hits the past two years–more than Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, or anyone. She recently commented on fans sobbing with joy when they meet her–it’s now just as likely to be execs from her record company…
- Wal-Mart and iTunes are teaming up to release a series of CD’s featuring American Idol washouts, with an album including three songs each from Jon Peter Lewis, Ryan Starr, AJ Tabaldo and Stevie Scott out February 5, and another with Alaina Alexander, Rudy Cardenas, Patrick Hall and Gedeon McKinney coming March 4. How ironic is it that either one of these CD’s will probably outsell Taylor Hicks?
- The SAG Awards Sunday night on TNT and TBS will turn out to be the first awards show traditionally broadcast this year, since the writer’s union will permit their members to work on it and actors will be able to attend without crossing a picket line. And since there will also be a red carpet, Joan Rivers can get off unemployment…
