  • TimbalandW is turning his attention from the music business to the movies–he’s working with another outfit to co-produce a film called Vinyl, which is, surprise, about a band.  So, let’s see if we can figure this out–he’ll make the movie a big success, then take all the stars from the movie and produce films for them that will make them big successes, and then he’ll mix and match them with other stars to make even more successful movies–any questions?
  • Kanye WestW talked to People magazine on the anniversary of his mom Donda West’s death, and told them that he feels responsible for what happened to her, explaining, "I feel like I moved to California, and then my mom [did too], and she did stuff she wouldn’t have done if we’d stayed in Chicago."  I rarely dispense advice, but maybe some is in order here:  dude, all you’re responsible for is what you do with the life you have now that she’s gone–if what you do and who you are can honor what she saw in you, not only will she live on, but she’ll live in you…
  • NBC’s annual Christmas In Rockerfeller Center special includes some pretty special music when it airs December 3, including Beyonce, The Jonas Brothers, Idol’s David Cook, plus Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts and that amazing opera singer who won America’s Got TalentAl RokerW from The Today Show will host again, and the live show will again conclude with the lighting of the big tree just off 49th and 5th–and about the only thing that can outshine that old peacock…
  • Michael JacksonW has turned over Neverland RanchW to the company who helped keep it from foreclosure, although it will be a joint venture between Jacko and the real estate investment company affiliate who’s taking control of it.  Whatever tlheir plans for the place, there is definitely some de-creepiness that has to be done first…
  • Jennifer AnistonW is still answering questions about comments she made in a Vogue interview about her ex Brad PittW and Angelina JolieW–she told Oprah on today’s show that she was just answering the reporter’s question about how it made her feel to hear Jolie describe the way she and Pitt fell in love in 2004, saying the remarks "were really uncool".  Personally, the only thing she really needs to answer is how she learned to behave like such a grown-up in a town so full of overgrown babies…
  • A former executive producer of American Idol isn’t a fan of the new season’s plans to include a fourth judge–songwriter Kara DioguardiW–to the additional mix of Simon, Paula and Randy, saying, "I think once you’ve been told, ‘You suck,’ you don’t need to be told another three times."  No worries–I’m sure Paula will make up for it by trying to date as many of the contestants as possible…

  • Those that have been feverishly waiting to see pictures of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s new twins Vivienne and Knox are in luck–they’re in the new issue of People, and it hit newsstands Monday.  They teamed with the UK’s Hello! to buy the photos for a record $14 million, which reportedly all went to charity–The Society For The Preservation Of Celebrity Couples And Their Oversized Families
  • Jonas Brothers were the big winners at  the Teen Choice Awards–broadcast on Fox Monday night at 8PM Eastern–scoring six surfboard trophies for Choice Music Single, Choice Breakout Group, Choice Music Love Song, Choice Summer Song, Choice Male Hottie and Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon Male.  That worked out well–they can all share equally with no fighting…
  • Madonna was back home in Michigan Saturday to screen her Malawi documentary I Am Because We Are at a local film festival.  While her husband Guy Ritchie didn’t seem to be with her, she was joined by Oscar-winning director and festival founder Michael Moore–does that mean they’re a couple now?
  • Kanye West has put to rest the rumors that he would be producing Britney Spears with a brief post on his blog, saying, "I have not signed up to do Britney Spears music."  K-Fed must be bummed–he probably figured he was guaranteed a job…
  • Lindsay Lohan took offense to a comment made by LA police chief William Bratton, who gave as an example of how paparazzi are currently less of a problem  that Lohan, quote, "had gone gay" with DJ Samantha Ronson.  LiLo told reporters that the chief "shouldn’t get involved in everyone else’s business when it comes to their personal life"–and then apparently stuck her tongue just as far down Ronson’s throat as possible…
  • Canadian singer Sarah McLaughlin will release a greatest-hits package in October 7 called Closer: The Best Of Sarah McLaughlin, which will include 14 of her hits including I Will Remember You and Building A Mystery, plus 2 new tracks–U Want Me 2 and Don’t Give Up On Us.  A deluxe 2-CD package will include a second disc of more of her hits–plus an explanation to her male fans about what the heck Lillith Fair was all about…

  • Nicole Kidman’s father Antony is offering an explanation for why she and husband Keith Urban named their new daughter Sunday, saying he suggested the name to them after learning about a prominent Australian arts patron with the same name.  That’s cool–I was afraid it had to do with the feng shui of their kitchen or something…
  • Uh-oh–Kayne West is teed off again, upset about a Chicago Sun-Times report that his people were pressuring him to take anger management classes, writing in his blog that, "If anything, I need anger enhancement!"  Right–that Kayne is just too mellow for his own good…

  • Mark Burnett, the brains behind the breakthrough reality show Survivor, is being sued by former business partner Conrad Riggs for $70 million,  claiming Burnett broke a long-standing agreement to to pay Riggs 10% of the profits from Burnett’s production company.  Just a warning to Riggs–if Burnett shows up in court wearing a loincloth and carrying a spear, you could be in trouble…
