 Looks like Britney Spears will go on trial for driving without a valid license, as her attorney rejected an offer from prosecutors that would have put Brit on a year’s probation and pay a $150 fine–a pretty good deal, but one that would have left her with a criminal record which her side does not want. I just hope Brit won’t be rethinking her legal strategy from inside a cell…- Rapper T.I. not only put his new CD Paper Trail at #1 on the album sales chart, but he actually was able to replace himself at the top of the singles chart as well, with Live Your Life taking over from Whatever You Like. - Travis Barker told Us Weekly that he’s happy to be alive after the September 19 plane crash that left Barker and DJ AM seriously injured. He’s also lucky that none of his tattoos melted off…
 British singer Leona Lewis has said "no" to an offer from upscale London department store Harrods to pay her nearly $2 million to just show up and have a few photos taken–all because Harrod’s sells furs and Lewis is opposed to that. I can certainly respect that, but boy are those some expensive principles…- Tuesday’s second presidential debate was seen by some 63 million viewers–huge, but still fewer than the 70 million who saw Sarah Palin and Joe Biden last week, which was the most-watched VP debate ever. I imagine about half of them watched to see what Palin was going to say, and the other half watched to see if she whether she would sing or tap dance for the talent competition…
- Paris Hilton is continuing her "fake" run for the presidency with another video posted on Funny Or Die, where she and The West Wing star Martin Sheen discuss campaign issues, with Paris calling the current economic crisis, "the worst depression since The Notebook". It’s close, but the movie definitely has better actors…

 Not only does Katy Perry has a hit song, but she now has a doll, as she teamed up with a fashion designer to create a 12-inch doll that will sell for 50 bucks through Integrity Toys and will feature the belted gold minidress Katy wears in the video for I Kissed A Girl. I wanted to get one for my little niece, only it kept trying to put a lip lock on Malibu Barbie…- More great news for ex-Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker–he’s been released from the hospital with a spokesperson reporting that he’s "in good condition". That certainly is an encouraging report–although how often is someone discharged with the statement, "The patient is in terrible shape, but we’re cutting them loose anyway"?
- Britney Spears said in a radio interview Monday that she is "definitely" hitting the road next year to do some shows, and that it likely will be a world tour. It must make her feel just like a teenager again–you know, having to ask her dad for permission to go…
- A former attorney for Heath Ledger has filed suit against an insurance company who he alleges is withholding a $10 million payout on a policy Ledger took out to benefit his daughter Matilda Rose. The company claims they are just thoroughly investigating the possibility that Ledger committed suicide, despite a coroner’s report calling his death an accidental drug overdose, which would let them off the hook for paying–which would be almost as evil as Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight…
- Ed McMahon is back in legal hot water, thanks to a lawsuit from a company founded by the late Merv Griffin who claims it loaned McMahon $100 grand in 2005 and hasn’t been repaid. Maybe Merv’s people could let Ed win the money on Wheel Of Fortune…
 Janet Jackson had to cancel a Montreal concert when she was hospitalized after suddenly becoming sick during sound check. Maybe she took a look at her hairdo and just puked…

 Rumors of real-life drama from the set of Hannah Montana over the weekend caused Miley Cyrus to tell People magazine, "I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people," and that she’s very excited about the upcoming new season, which begins in November. Besides, it’s probably a lot easier to be Hannah these days than Miley…- Fellow musicians are reaching out to Travis Barker and DJ A.M., both recovering from critical injuries in a weekend plane crash, with Fall Out Boy and Gavin DeGraw–who both toured with Barker–issuing statements of sympathy and concern. I know they feel that if it can happen to those two, it could happen to them as well…

Considering his track record, she probably wasn’t willing to risk letting him out alone…
 Despite legal pressure from Harry Potter studio Warner Brothers, the Indian film Hari Puttar: A Comedy Of Terrors will be released this weekend, as a judge disagreed with studio arguments that their titles were too similar. Odds are that people will hate it so much that they’ll rush out and buy all the Harry movies…
